Day 1 :LIMA / RECEPTION

Reception upon arrival at Jorge Chavez airport, in Lima. Transfer to the hotel. Meals open.

 

Day 2 : LIMA – ICA (BUS SERVICE) - BUGGY AND SAND SURFING IN THE HUACACHINA DESERT

In the morning, transfer to the Lima land terminal.
Departure by bus, for ICA, via the Pan-American Highway skirting the coastal desert. A 1-hour adrenalin buggy ride to cover 15 miles of desert and dunes, led by an expert. We stop to learn how to practice sand surfing, before continuing on to the oasis of Orovilca to watch the sunset. Return to Ica and transfer to the hotel. Meals open.
Note 1: Coach journey unaccompanied.
Note 2: Timetable and specific transport company details to be communicated to visitors upon arrival in Peru.

 

Day 3 : ICA – LIMA (BUS SERVICE)

Morning open to enjoy the hotel facilities (swimming pool). In the beginning of the afternoon, departure by bus for Lima. Reception at the land terminal and transfer to the hotel. Meals open.
Note 1: the visitors are not accompanied on the bus journey. 4-hour of travel time.
Note 2: Possibility to go to the Adolfo Bermudez Jenkins Ica regional museum, a true gem, exhibiting a collection of objects: fabrics, ceramics, mummies and trepinated from the coastal Paracas and Nazca cultures, as well as from the Inca period.

 

Day 4 : LIMA – CUZCO (BY PLANE)

Transfer to the Lima airport for a flight with destination Cuzco, heart of the Incan Empire.
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest to help acclimatize to the altitude and remainder of the day open. Meals open.
Please note: Visitors are not accompanied by a guide on this flight. Timetable and specific airline details to be communicated to visitors upon arrival in Peru.

 

Day 5 : CUZCO / RUINS ON HORSEBACK

In the morning, we reach the southern districts of Cuzco (San Sébastian or San Geronimo). We verify the equipment and listen to guiding recommendations.
Departure for the Incan ruins overlooking the city: Sacsayhuaman and Q’enko. At the end of the morning, walk down to the colonial area of San Blas. Afternoon open. Night in a hotel in Cuzco. Meals open.
Note: beginner level.

 

Day 6 : CUZCO – PATABAMBA – UCHUY QOSQO – LAMAY – SACRED VALLEY / TREK

In the morning, departure in a private vehicle for Patabamba, small village of 600 inhabitants known for its handicraft as well as its textiles and dolls.
Departure point of the trek in the direction of Sihua (el. 3880 m.a.s.l.). Crossing of a pass at 4050 meters of altitude and continuation towards Pucamarca, former Inca site. Wonderful view over the Sacred Valley and our main target: the ruins of Uchuy Qosqo also called “Little Cuzco”, an impressive site for its location. Steep descent to Lamay. Night in the valley. Cold lunch included. Dinner open.
Note: It is a 6-hour walk

 

Day 7 : SACRED VALLEY – PISAC – MARAS - OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUASCALIENTES (MACHU PICCHU)

Departure in a private vehicle for a day dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley. First stop at the ruins of Pisac. Visit of the site and descent by foot to the handcraft market.
Typical lunch, and stop in a ceramic workshop in Urumbamba (Ayllu if open) and then in Maras: salt mines in the middle of the Cordillera! We walk down to the Urumbamba River meet our vehicle and continuation of the journey in the direction of the Incan village of Ollantaytambo.
Visit of the fortress. Departure from the train station in mid afternoon for a two-hour long journey to Aguascalientes. Night in hotel. Meals open.

 

Day 8 : AGUASCALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU - CUZCO

In the early morning, direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Day dedicated to the visit of the site; one of the wonders of the world, discovered in 1911 by the American anthropologist Hiram Bingham. In the afternoon, return to Cuzco by train. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Meals open.
Suggestion: ascent of Huayna Picchu – make sure you wear comfortable shoes, do not carry too much weight, and hope you are not suffering from vertigo – or to La Puerta del Sol.
Note 1: train timetables to be communicated to visitors upon arrival in Cuzco.
Note 2: depending on availabilities, the return journey can be done by train to Ollantaytambo and then by private vehicle to Cuzco.

 

Day 9 : CUZCO – CHINCHEROS – HUAYPO- MORAY – MARAS- URUBAMABA – CUZCO / MOUNTAIN BIKE

In the early the afternoon, departure in a private vehicle for Chinchero.
Quick briefing and departure for a mountain bike ride to the discovery of the sites of Moray (former Incan farming laboratory) and Maras (salt mines in the middle of the Cordillera) via the Huaypo Lake and a few typical villages of the Sacred Valley. Our ride ends at Urumbamba from where we return by vehicle to Cuzco. Cold lunch included. Dinner open.

Day 10 : CUZCO / DAY OPEN (OPTION OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES)

Day open in Cuzco, at the heart of the Inca Empire.
Option: rafting, bungee jump, paragliding, motorbike around Cuzco, check with us. Night in hotel. Meals open.

 

Day 11 : CUZCO - PUNO (TITICACA) (TOURIST BUS) + TRANSFER LLACHON

In the morning, transfer to the Cuzco land terminal. Journey by bus to Puno, town located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Wonderful landscapes along the road. We go over the Raya Pass, at an altitude of 4320 meters.
Visits of the Pukara Museum, of the archaeological site of Raqchi and of the “Sistine Chapel” of the Andes in Andahuaylillas. Pick up and transfer to Llachon, night with a local host. Lunch open. Diner included.
Note: visitors are not accompanied by a guide on the bus journey. However, a Spanish/English-speaking guide, exclusive to the bus company, participates to the journey and gives information along the way.
Option: the Andes Orient Express operates from November to March on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays (and also on Fridays from April to October).

 

Day 12 : LLACHON – TAQUILE – UROS – LLACHON – PUNO (KAYAK)

Departure at 7 a.m. for a one-day kayak trip on Lake Titicaca including a walk on the island of Taquile. Visit of the island, of great cultural interest, where residents live in harmony with the ancestral traditions.
Then, continuation of the cruise until reaching the islands of Uros. Visit of the famous floating islands. Return by kayak. Transfer from Llachon to the hotel in Puno. Cold lunch included. Dinner open.
Note: this journey includes a Spanish-speaking or English-speaking guide.

 

Day 13 : PUNO - SILLUSTANI – JULIACA - LIMA (BY PLANE)

Transfer to the Juliaca’s airport for a flight to Lima, the Peruvian capital.
On the way, visit of the Chullpas of Sillustani, funerary towers circular in shape, built in stone, some of which exceeding twelve yards in height. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Meals open.

Day 14 : LIMA / INTERNATIONAL RETURN FLIGHT

Three hours before take-off, transfer to Jorge Chavez airport in Lima.
Connection with the international return flight. Meals open.
