Day by day…
An itinerary which includes all of the main attractions of the Cordillera Blanca. Alpamayo was declared the most beautiful mountain in the world by the UN in 1968. Ideal for those who have already ice-climbed at 70°+ and who would like challenge and satisfaction of making an unforgettable ascent on one of the world’s most beautiful routes.
Day 1: HUARAZ – EL CORRAL DE LA LLAMA (3800 M)
On Day 1 we will travel by private bus to Cashapampa (2950 m.a.s.l.). The trek to Corral de la Llama is approximately 4 to 5 hours. Our gear will be carried by mule. At night, we will make camp.

Day 2: EL CORRAL DE LA LLAMA – MORAINE BASE CAMP (4900 M)
Day 2, our first day trekking, is dedicated to our ascent to the Alpamayo base camp. There we will leave the mules and climb to the Moraine Camp where we will spend the night.
Altitude Change: +1100 meters
Duration: 7 to 8 hours
Day 3: MORAINE CAMP – YO CAMP (5300 M)
On Day 3 we will climb to Camp I. Along the way we will climb through a 55° pass while enjoying impressive views of the Alpamayo. At night we will make camp on the glacier.
Altitude Change: +1100 meters
Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Day 4: ASCENT TO THE ALPAMAYO (5974 M)
On Day 4 we ascend the Alpamayo – a 650 meter wall with a 65° degree angle; installing security cords where necessary. This is a day filled with strong emotions and majestic views. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +950 meters / -950 meters
Duration: 9 to 10 hours
Day 5: SECOND CHANCE TO ASCEND ALPAMAYO (or REST DAY).
Day 5 is our second chance to once again make the Alpamayo ascent, or for those who prefer, just a day’s rest at camp.
Day 6 ALPMAYO- QUITARAJU (6036M)
On Day 6 we will climb the Quitaraju. From there we will take-in the grand view of the Alpamayo. At night, we will make camp on the glacier.
Altitude Change: +736 meters / -736 meters
Duration: 7 to 8 hours
Day 7: RETURN TO BASE CAMP
On Day 7 we will descend back to base camp, where we will camp for the night.
Altitude Change: -1000 meters
Duration: 4 to 5 hours Day 8: CASHAPAMPA – HUARAZ
On day 8 we will continue our descent down to Cashapampa. Our gear will be carried by mule. We will then travel to Huaraz by bus.
Altitude Change: -1350 meters
Distance: 22 km; Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Included:
Transport and subsequent transfers from your hotel in Huaraz, Spanish speaking guide (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), 1 cooker (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), food during the treks, hiking and mountain equipment (tents, camping equipment, ropes, ice-picks, snow-brushes, first-aid kit), transport of collective equipment to camp 1 (by mules and porters).
Not Included:
International flight; Bus trip Lima-Huaraz; Hotels Huaraz; Entrance fees to national parks and museums in Huaraz; Airport tax ($28 per person); Food purchases in restaurants in Huaraz and in the towns not included in the trek (food costs approximately $8 per person in a good restaurant). Personal equipment is also NOT included, such as a sleeping bag rated to –10˚ C; Mattresses; Hiking/Walking shoes; Helmut with light; Pick; Crampons, etc. These items CAN be rented. Note: Personal insurance is obligatory.
