The Misti is readily accessible with only moderate technical difficulty. It is an exceptional program due to the beauty of the active volcano. Misti is the pride of the citizens of Arequipa.
Day 1: AREQUIPA – AGUADA BLANCA NATIONAL RESERVE (3700 M)
We will begin the day with breakfast, and then travel to the Aguada Blanca Reserve by private bus. We will take a long easy hike to help everyone acclimatize, and then make camp at approximately 400 meters above sea level.

Day 2: BASE CAMP (4800 M)
Day 2 begins with a good breakfast, and then we will begin our ascent to the base camp of Monte Blanco located at 4800 m.a.s.l., where we will make camp for the night.

Day 3: CAMPING BASES - MISTI (5822 M) - AREQUIPA
Day 3 begins with an early breakfast, and then at the break of dawn we will begin our steep ascent. Progressing slowing, we will climb for approximately 6 hours before arriving at the crater of this beautiful and still active volcano. From the top we will enjoy the impressive views over Arequipa. After a short rest, we will begin our descent to base camp, and from there we will travel back to the city of Arequipa by private bus.

Included:
Transport and subsequent transfers from your hotel in Huaraz, Spanish speaking guide (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), 1 cooker (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), food during the treks, hiking and mountain equipment (tents, camping equipment, ropes, ice-picks, snow-brushes, first-aid kit), transport of collective equipment to camp 1 (by mules and porters).
Not Included:
International flight; Bus trip Lima-Huaraz; Hotels Huaraz; Entrance fees to national parks and museums in Huaraz; Airport tax ($28 per person); Food purchases in restaurants in Huaraz and in the towns not included in the trek (food costs approximately $8 per person in a good restaurant). Personal equipment is also NOT included, such as a sleeping bag rated to –10˚ C; Mattresses; Hiking/Walking shoes; Helmut with light; Pick; Crampons, etc. These items CAN be rented.
