Along the way......
The Colca Valley is an impressive geological formation hollowed out by the Colca River, which runs through the gorge, only four hours away by road from the center of Arequipa. This three-day hike allows you to appreciate the splendor of the Canyon, which with is depth of 3,000 meters is known as being the deepest in the world – is it really true? Whether it is or not, it remains the pride of the Peruvians.

Day 1 :
Morning departure for Colca. First stop at Cruz del Condor, to observe the flight of the condors. We then begin our hike at the heart of the Pampa San Miguel. Descent along the Canyon to the small village of San Juan de Chuccho at an altitude of 2400 meters a.s.l. (el. 7,874 feet). Night in a camp. Meals included. Transfer: around 6 hours; Hiking time: around 3½-hour.
Day 2 :
Visit of the village of Tapay, via hamlets whose residents cultivate the fruits of the region and harvest ‘cochinilla’ (woodlice). Camp set up at Oasis (el. 2225 m.a.s.l. - el. 7,300 feet) and relaxation in the surrounding hot springs. All included. Hiking time: around 5 hours; Elevation gain: + 500 meters (el. 1,640 feet) / - 675 metres a.s.l (el. 2,214 feet).
Day 3 :
Morning departure for Cabanaconde. On the way, visit of several tourist places and bath at Calera hot springs in Chivay. Return by road to Arequipa and arrival in the hotel. Lunch included. Dinner open. Hiking time: around 4 hours.
