Day by day…
An itinerary which includes all of the main attractions of the Cordillera Blanca and all the typical views of the snow-capped peak of Alpamayo (5947 m.a.s.s.) – declared to be the world’s most beautiful mountain by the UN in 1968.

Day 1: LIMA RECEPTION
Reception at Jorge Chavez airport, flight ? to ? and transfer to Ducado ** located in the Miraflores district.

Day 2: LIMA – HUARAZ (BUS)
Transfer in the bus terminal to go to Huaraz. Located in the central region of Callejon de Huaylas, Huaraz, the capital of Ancash State, is the main urbanized area in the valley. It is a starting point you cannot get away from for treks in the White Cordillera.
Reception and transfer to Steel guesthouse **.

Day 3 to 6: CORDILLERA BLANCA EXCURSION
During this 4-day acclimatization tour, we will discover the main attractions and landscapes of the Cordillera Cordillera Blanca. We will cover the route by private bus and trekking which will allow us to fully discover the Huaraz region and all its natural wonders. The mountain peaks are imposing with an average altitude of 5500 meters. The Huscaran mountain has an altitude of 6768 meters and is nicknamed “The roof of the Peruvian world.” In this region there are 22 thermal hot spring sites and more than 600 lakes. This mountainous region is also known for its friendly and hospitable local population.

A progressive acclimatization, with varied and interesting landscapes will ultimately bring us to the town of the Chacas (3360 m.a.s.l.). Later, we will stroll through the city of Yungay, which was tragically buried by an earthquake in 1970. Today the city is considered a “a garden of remembrance.” From Yungay, we will cross the Cordillera Blanca and enter the valley where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the lake in the Llanganuco Region. We will relax on the banks of this unique lake and then ascend the pass at 4767 m.a.s.l. and then descend again to 3500 m.a.s.l. on the other side of the mountain range. Throughout this amazing trek we will discover numerous traditional and unknown areas of the region. We will camp at night.

Day 7: HUARAZ FREE DAY

Day 8: HUARAZ – QUEBRADA CANCAHUA (4200)
On Day 1 we will travel by private bus to the Quebrada Ulta where we will begin our 2-hour hike in the Cancahua valley. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +300 meters
Distance: 3 ½ km; Duration: 2 hours

Day 9: QUEBRADA CANCAHUA – QUEBRADA KESHU (3800 M)
On Day 2 we will make a 7-hour hike up the first mountain pass at Yanayucu at 4800 m.a.s.l. and cross a Quenuals woodland. At night, we will camp in the Keshu valley.

Distance: 12 km; Duration: 7 hours

Day 10: QUEBRADA KESHU – QUEBRADA HUARIPAMPA (3500 M)
On Day 2 we will hike to the Huaripampa valley (3500 m.a.s.l.) where we will pass through various small towns along the way. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +300 meters / -300 meters
Distance: 18 km; Duration 6 to 7 hours.

Day 11: HUARIPAMPA – HUECRUCOCHA LAGOON (4000 M)
On our 4th day we will hike approximately 7 hours, passing the Punta Union, and ultimately arriving to the Huecrucocha lagoon where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Taulliraju Mountain (5830 m.a.s.l.). We will camp at night.

Day 12: HUECRUCOCHA – PISHGOPAMPA (3650 M)
Day 5 is dedicated to our 6-hour walk to Pishgopampa, where there are magnificent views of the Cordillera Blanca. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +490 meters / -860 meters
Distance: 10 km; Duration: 6 hours

Day 13: WALK TO HUILLCA (4000 M)
On Day 6 we will cross the separation line of the waters of the Amazon and the Pacific Coast. The walk will take us approximately 7 hours and will take us to Huillca, where we will camp overnight.
Altitude Change: +960 meters / -610 meters
Distance: 13 km; Duration: 7 hours

Day 14: HUILLCA – SAFUNA LAGOON (4200 M)
Day 7’s hike of 6 to 7 hour will take us to the Safuna and Pucacocha lagoons (4512 m.a.s.l.). We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +512 meters / -312 meters
Distance: 14 km; Duration: 6 to 7 hours

Day 15: SAFUNA LAGOON – JANCARURISH LAGOON (4200 M)
On Day 8 we will make a 7-hour hike to the Jancarurish lagoon. Along the way, we will pass the splendid Alpamayo mountain (5947 m.a.s.l.). We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +1010 meters / -390 meters

Day 16: JANCARURISH LAGOON – OSORURI (4650 M)
During Day 9’s incredible 7-hour journey to Osoruri, we will explore pre-Columbian ruins. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +650 meters / -200 meters
Distance: 15 km; Duration: 7 hours

Day 17: WALK TO WISHCASH (4300 M)
On Day 10 will hike to Wishcash through the mountain pass of Osoruri at 4860 m.a.s.l. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning views of the mountain range. We will camp at night.
Altitude Change: +330 meters / -880 meters
Distance: 8 km; Duration: 7 hours

Day 18: WISHCASH – HUALCAYAN (3139 M) – HUARAZ
On the final day of our trip, we will make a 4-hour trek to the community of Hualcayan, visiting pre-Columbian ruins along the way. From Hualcayan we will travel by bus to Huaraz.
Altitude Change: -1161 meters
Distance: 9 km; Duration: 4 hours

Day 19: HUARAZ – LIMA (BUS)
Transfer to the Huaraz bus terminal and connection to the « grand tourism bus » to Lima. Arrival in Lima and transfer to Ducado Hotel **

Day 20: LIMA – DEPARTURE INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
3 hours before landing Transfer to the airport and connection for the international return flight. Free time for meals

Not Included:
International flight; Entrance fees to national parks and museums in Huaraz; Airport tax ($28 per person); Food purchases in restaurants in Huaraz and in the towns not included in the trek (food costs approximately $8 per person in a good restaurant). Personal equipment is also NOT included, such as a sleeping bag rated to –10˚ C; Mattresses; Hiking/Walking shoes; Helmut with light; Pick; Crampons, etc. These items CAN be rented. Note: Personal insurance is obligatory.
