Along the way......
It is impossible to find a hike which runs at less than 4,000 meters of altitude in this extremely beautiful White Cordillera... and this Yanganuco - Santa Cruz trek is no different…We follow the tropical snow-capped peaks of the stupefying Artesonaju, Taullirajú and Pucahirca… Steep valleys, rivers fed by glacier melt and high altitude lakes are among some of the attractions making this trek something quite unique.

Day 1 :
In the morning, transfer by private vehicle to Yanama, departure point of the trek. Walk to the Quebrada Huaripampa, at an altitude of 4200 meters a.s.l. (el. 13,780 feet). Night in a camp. Hiking time: around 6 hours; Distance: 9.3 miles; Elevation gain: + 800 meters (2,624 feet) / - 200 meters (656 feet).
Day 2 :
Among the stops of the day, Punta Unión, at an altitude of 4760 meters a.s.l. (el. 15,616 feet). Magnificent view over the surrounding glaciers: Taullirajú, Artesonrajú and Pucahirca. Night in a camp at an altitude of 4150 meters a.s.l. (el. 13,615 feet), at Taullipampa. Hiking time: 5 to 6 hours; Distance: 5.6 miles; Elevation gain: + 560 meters (1,837 feet) / - 610 meters (2,001 feet).
Day 3 :
Walk to Llamacorral, via two magnificent lagoons. Night in a camp at an altitude of 3800 meters a.s.l. / el. 12,467 feet. Hiking time: around 6 hours; Distance: 9.3 miles; Elevation gain: - 350 meters (1,148 feet).
Day 4 :
Half-day dedicated to a walk to Cashapampa, last stop of the trek. Journey by bus to Huaraz. Arrival in the hotel. Meals open. Hiking time: around 3 hours; Distance: 4.9 miles; Elevation gain: - 300 meters (984 feet).
