Day by day…
An itinerary which includes all the main attractions of the Cordillera Huayhuash. This program is particularly suitable for children (over 14) who are in good health.
Day 1: HUARAZ (3052M) – MATACANCHA (4100 M)
On Day 1 we will travel by private bus to Matacancha. Along the way, we will cover almost the entire eastern side of the Cordillera Blanca and we will discover the Cordillera Huayhuash. We will camp at night.
Day 2: MATACANCHA – JAHUACOCHA LAGOON (4066 M)
On Day 2 we will hike for approximately 6 hours to the clearing at Sambunya (4750 m.a.s.l.) from where we will have a breathtaking view of the Rondoy (5870 m.a.s.l.), the Jirishanca (6094 m.a.s.l.) and the Yerupajá (6634 m.a.s.l.) mountains. We will camp overnight there in a private camp.

Day 3: WALK TO THE PUNTA LLAUCHA (4847 M)
During our 6-hour walk to the Punta Llaucha where we will see flying condors and encounter the most beautiful view of the Cordillera Huayhuash. We will return to the same campsite to spend the night. Those wishing to stay on the shores of the Juhuacocha can rest for the day and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

Day 4: JAHUACOCHA – LLAMAC (3300 M) – HUARAZ
On our last day, we will make a 5-hour trek to the town of Llamac where we will leave our mules and their handlers. We will travel by bus to Huaraz.

Included:
Transport and subsequent transfers from your hotel in Huaraz, English speaking guide (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), 1 cooker (+ 1 assistant if the group is > 8 people), food during the treks, hiking and mountain equipment (tents, camping equipment, ropes, ice-picks, snow-brushes, first-aid kit), transport of collective equipment (by mules and porters).
Not Included:
International flight; Bus trip Lima-Huaraz; Hotels in Lima and Huaraz; Entrance fees to national parks and museums in Huaraz; Airport tax ($28 per person); Food purchases in restaurants in Huaraz and in the towns not included in the trek (food costs approximately $8 per person in a good restaurant). Personal equipment is also NOT included, such as a sleeping bag rated to –10˚ C; Mattresses; Hiking/Walking shoes; Helmut with light; Pick; Crampons, etc. These items CAN be rented. Note: Personal insurance is obligatory.
