Day by day…
An itinerary which includes all of the main attractions of the Cordillera Blanca and the ascent of three impressive peaks. The Huascaran is the highest mountain in Peru.
Day 1: LIMA RECEPTION
Reception at Jorge Chavez airport, flight ? to ? and transfer to Ducado ** located in the Miraflores district.

Day 2: LIMA – HUARAZ (BUS)
Transfer in the bus terminal to go to Huaraz. Located in the central region of Callejon de Huaylas, Huaraz, the capital of Ancash State, is the main urbanized area in the valley. It is a starting point you cannot get away from for treks in the White Cordillera.
Reception and transfer to Steel guesthouse **.

Day 3 to 6: CORDILLERA BLANCA EXCURSION
During this 4-day acclimatization tour, we will discover the main attractions and landscapes of the Cordillera Cordillera Blanca. We will cover the route by private bus and trekking which will allow us to fully discover the Huaraz region and all its natural wonders. The mountain peaks are imposing with an average altitude of 5500 meters. The Huscaran mountain has an altitude of 6768 meters and is nicknamed “The roof of the Peruvian world.” In this region there are 22 thermal hot spring sites and more than 600 lakes. This mountainous region is also known for its friendly and hospitable local population.
A progressive acclimatization, with varied and interesting landscapes will ultimately bring us to the town of the Chacas (3360 m.a.s.l.). Later, we will stroll through the city of Yungay, which was tragically buried by an earthquake in 1970. Today the city is considered a “a garden of remembrance.” From Yungay, we will cross the Cordillera Blanca and enter the valley where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the lake in the Llanganuco Region. We will relax on the banks of this unique lake and then ascend the pass at 4767 m.a.s.l. and then descend again to 3500 m.a.s.l. on the other side of the mountain range. Throughout this amazing trek we will discover numerous traditional and unknown areas of the region. We will camp at night.

Day 7: HUARAZ – HUILLAC: ISHINCA BASE CAMP (4350 M)
We will travel by bus to Huillac (3500 m.a.s.l.) and then trek to Ishinca Base Camp. (4350 m.a.s.l.) Our gear will be carried by mules. We will enjoy the natural beauty of the sunset across the mountain range and the mountain of Tocclaraju as we make camp for the night.

Day 8: ASCENT TO THE ISHINCA (5530 M)
On Day 2 we will depart early after a hearty breakfast and ascend to the Ishinca where we will make camp for the night,

Duration: 8 to 10 hours
Day 9: ISHINCA BASE CAMP – TOCCLARAJU CAMP I (5100 M)
We depart early morning on Day 3 for Tocclaraju. Along the way we will enjoy extraordinary views of the mountain range. At night, we will make camp on the glacier.

Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Day 10: ASCENT TO THE TOCCLARAJU (6036 M)
On Day 4 we will climb the majestic Tocclaraju. At night we will make camp on the glacier.
Altitude Change: +936 meters / -936 meters
Duration: 9 to 10 hours
Day 11: DESCENT TO BASE CAMP
All of Day 5 is devoted to our descent to base camp, where we will make camp for the night.

Duration: 3 to 4 hours
Day 12: HUILLAC – HUARAZ
On the final day, we complete our descent to Huilac. Mules will carry our gear. We will travel to Huaraz by private bus.

Day 13 HUARAZ FREE DAY

Day 15: HUARAZ – BASE CAMP (4250 M)
On Day 1 we will travel by bus to Musho (3000 m.a.s.l.) and trek to the Base Camp Refuge. There will enjoy the natural beauty of the sunset as we make camp for the night.

Duration: 4 to 5 hours
Day 16: BASE CAMP – REFUGIO HUASCARAN (4800 M)
On Day 2 we will trek to the Huascaran Base Camp, where we will spend the night.
Altitude Change: +500 meters
Duration: 4 hours
Day 17: ASCENT TO CAMP I (5500 M)
On Day 3 we will depart early in the morning for Camp I, where we will spend the night.
Altitude Change: +700 meters
Duration: 4 to 5 hours
Day 18: CAMP I – GARGANTA CAMP (6000 M)
Day 4 will be dedicated to our ascent to Garganta Camp (Camp II), along the way we will see extraordinary views of the Cordillera Blanca. We will spend the night at Garganta Camp.
Altitude Change: +500 meters
Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Day 19: ASCENT TO THE HUASCARAN (6768 M)
On Day 5 we climb the magnificent Huascaran, where we will literally be held in awe by the views around us. At night we will make camp on the glacier.
Altitude Change: +768 / -687 meters
Duration: 9 to 10 hours
Day 20: DESCENT TO BASE CAMP
Day 6 will be devoted to our descent to base camp.
Altitude Change: -1750 meters
Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Day 21: BASE CAMP – HUARAZ
On Day 7 we will continue our descent to Musho. Mules will carry our gear. Then we will travel to Huaraz by private bus.
Altitude Change: -1250 meters
Duration: 3 to 4 hours
Day 22: HUARAZ - LIMA (BUS)
Transfer to the Huaraz bus terminal and connection to the « grand tourism bus » to Lima. Arrival in Lima and transfer to Ducado Hotel **

Day 23: LIMA – DEPARTURE INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
3 hours before landing Transfer to the airport and connection for the international return flight. Free time for meals.

Transport and bus trip Lima-Huaraz, transfers, Hotels 2 star in Lima and Huaraz, English speaking guide, food during the treks, hiking and mountain equipment (tents, camping equipment, ropes, ice-picks, snow-brushes, first-aid kit), transport of collective equipment (by mules and porters).
Not Included:
International flight; Entrance fees to national parks and museums in Huaraz; Airport tax ($28 per person); Food purchases in restaurants in Huaraz and in the towns not included in the trek (food costs approximately $8 per person in a good restaurant). Personal equipment is also NOT included, such as a sleeping bag rated to –10˚ C; Mattresses; Hiking/Walking shoes; Helmut with light; Pick; Crampons, etc. These items CAN be rented. Note: Personal insurance is obligatory.
