Along the way......
An eleven day itinerary allowing you to discover the main attractions of the Cordillera Blanca or White Cordillera, and notably the superb view over the Alpamayo Glacier (reaching 5,947 meters above sea level) and considered by the United Nations in 1968, to be "the most beautiful mountain in the world”.

Day 1 :
In the morning, transfer by private vehicle to La Querada Ulta, departure point of the hike. Night in a camp, at La Quebrada Cancahua (el. 4200 m.a.s.l. / 13,780 feet). Distance: 2.1 miles; Elevation gain: + 300 m (984 feet).
Day 2 :
This day we clear our first pass, the Yanayacu (el. 4850 m.a.s.l. / 15,912 feet). Crossing of the Quenuales wood. Camp at Quebrada Keshu (el. 3800 m.a.s.l. / 12,467 feet). Hiking time: 7 hours; Distance: 7.4 miles; Elevation gain: + 550 m (1,804 feet) / - 1050 m (3,444 feet).
Day 3 :
Hiking day to La Quebrada Huaripampa, near some villages. Night in a camp (el. 3500 m.a.s.l. / 11,482 feet). Hiking time: 6 to 7 hours; Distance: 11.1 miles; Elevation gain: + 300 m (984 feet) / - 300 m (984 feet).
Day 4 :
On this day, we clear the second pass of the trek, the Pucaraju (el. 4650 m.a.s.l. / 15,255 feet), and reach the Huecrucocha Lagoon, where we enjoy a wonderful view over Taullirajú (el. 5 830 m.a.s.l. / 19,127 feet). Night in a camp, at 4000 meters a.s.l. (el. 13,123 feet). Distance: 13 miles; Elevation gain: + 940 m (3,083 feet) / - 740 m (1,427 feet).
Day 5 :
We clear the Yaino Pass (el. 4 150 m.a.s.l. / 13,615 feet) and reach the heights of Pishgopampa. Night in a camp (el. 3 650 m.a.s.l. (el. 11,975 feet). Distance: 6.2 miles; Elevation gain: + 500 m (1,640 feet) / - 250 m (820 feet).
Day 6 :
Ascent of a pass at 4600 meters a.s.l. (el. 15,091 feet) and crossing of the water shade divider between the Amazon Basin and the Pacific Basin. Night in a camp (el. 3 650 m.a.s.l. / 11,975 feet).
Day 7 :
Hiking day to the Lagoons of Safuna and Pucacocha. Night in a camp (el. 4200 m.a.s.l. / 13,780 feet). Hiking time: 5 to 6 hours; Distance: 8.7 miles; Elevation gain: + 312 m (1,023 feet) / - 312 m (1,023 feet).
Day 8 :
Hiking day to the Jancarurish Lagoon. Discovery of the stuning Pyramid of the legendary Alpamayo, culminating at 5947 meters a.s.l. (el. 19,511 feet). Night in a camp (el. 4200 m.a.s.l. / 13,780 feet). Hiking time: around 7 hours; Distance: 8.7 miles; Elevation gain: +1010 m (3,313 feet) / - 390 m (1,280 feet).
Day 9 :
Short hike to Ruina to enjoy the landscapes. Night in a camp (el. 4100 m.a.s.l. / 14,451 feet). Rest or climb on the sides of the Santa Cruz to enjoy another view over the Alpamayo. Hiking time: around 1½-hour; Distance: 4.3 miles; Elevation gain: + 0 m / - 100 m (328 feet).
Day 10 :
Hiking day in the direction of Wishcash. We go over two passes, the first one at 4750 meters a.s.l. (el. 15,583 feet), and the other one at 4850 m.a.s.l. / 15,912 feet). Night in a camp (el. 4400 m.a.s.l. / 14,435 feet). Hiking time: around 7 hours; Distance: 10.5 miles; Elevation gain: + 875 m (2,870 feet) / - 585 m (1,919 feet).
Day 11 :
Last day trekking day with destination Hualcayan. Discovery of some pre-Colombian ruins and transfer by private vehicle to Huaraz. Meals open. Hiking time: around 4 hours; Distance: 56 miles; Elevation gain: - 1161 m (3,809 feet).
