The Ballestas Islands are a group of small islands near the town of Paracas located 300km southern from Lima. These islands are accessible from the resort town of Paracas by tour boat. Thanks to its great number of fishes in its cold water, the Ballestas Islands constitute a real ornithological reserve where various species of sea-birds and sea lions live together. We count 4.000 sea lions, 180 species of fish and 10 species of dolphins.
