Day 1: Lima

Upon your arrival at the airport Jorge Chávez of Lima, you will be taken to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima

Morning departure by private vehicle to Huaycan. On the way visit of the ruins of Puruchuco (closed on Mondays), which were built during the reign of the Incas and used as a residence for the Kuraca, an official of the Inca Empire.
Late in the morning, arrival at the workshop of the association Cory Llacta and meeting with artisans. Lunch at the workshop.
After lunch, the craftsmen will teach you the techniques of weaving and making certain object made in "burilado mate".
You will initiate yourself into their craft and leave with your home made object.
In the end of the afternoon, drive back to Lima.

Day 3: Lima - Arequipa

You will be transferred to the Lima airport to take your flight.


Flight with destination Arequipa.


Reception at Arequipa airport and transfer to the hotel.

Half day dedicated to the discovery of Arequipa, the "white city". Enjoy a guided tour of the colonial downtown including the main square, the cathedral, the Jesuit church and convent as well as the Santa Catalina monastery. This small city hidden within the city is full of beautiful lanes lined with ochre, blue and white colored houses, small squares and fountains that are reminiscent of Andalucia.

Day 4: Arequipa - Colca Valley

In the morning, departure in a private vehicle for Colca by the Colca Canyon route. On the way we will pass through the Pampa Cañahua nature reserve area where we can possibly observe vicunas and other camelids. We will stop at the Patapampa pass at an altitude of 4,900 m to view the surrounding volcanoes of Ampato, Sacanbaya and Hualca-Hualca. Arrival in Chivay and transfer to the village of Coporaque where we will be welcomed by a local family and settle into our accommodations. Lunch with the family. In the afternoon we will take part in activities and a walk with the family in the area and there is the option to swim in the thermal springs in the village. Dinner and night with the local host family.

Day 5: Colca Valley - Cruz del Condor - Puno

After breakfast we will start our day with a stop at Cruz del Condor, at the heart of Colca, to observe Andean condors in flight and appreciate the depth of the canyon (1200m). We will then travel toward Chivay visiting the lookout points at Antahuilque and Choquetico, the pre-Inca cemetery and the traditional picturesque villages of Maca (3262m) and Yanque (3417m) along the way. In the early afternoon we return to Arequipa.

At 1:00 pm, departure in tourist bus to Puno. This itinerary allows us to discover the rather unusual landscapes of the Altiplano. Arrival in Puno at the beginning of the evening.

Day 6: Puno - Chucuito - Luquina Chico

Departure at 8:00 am in a private vehicle.
After about 2 hours of ride, you will arrive at Chucuito where you will visit the temple of fertility and Peninsula Platería. Then you will drive along Lake Titicaca to reach the peninsula Luquina Chico (Chucuito) where you will be welcomed by the community. For the rest of the day, you can take part in activities of the fields and thereby better understand and share the daily life of your hosts.

Day 7: Luquina Chico - Taquile - Uros - Puno

Breakfast with the family.

At 8:00 am, departure by boat (1:30 pm sailing) to the island of Taquile and welcome by the families of the community for a tour of the village.
Discovery of the customs of the island and especially the art of weaving, highly developed in this island community. After lunch, walk to the main square and visit to the handicraft community centre.
After the tour, you will take the boat to the Floating Islands, which are not natural but were built by the Uros tribe, whose main activity is fishing.

Visit and return to Puno in the afternoon.

Day 8: Puno - Cusco

Transfer from the hotel to the bus station.
Around 7 AM departure by tourist bus to Cusco (ride non accompanied by a guide), navel of the Inca Empire.
This itinerary allows to enjoy beautiful landscapes along the route via the Col de la Raya, at 4320 meters above the sea level. Stop in the village of Pukara and small parade ground before continuing to Raqchi order to visit the temple of Wiracocha (the creator of the world), built with lava from volcano Quinchasata.
Discover the relics of the large administrative center which brings together more than 160 circular buildings which were used for storage a long time ago by the Empire.
The day will end with the visit of Anadhuaylillas knows as the Sistine Chapel especially for its inner wealth.

Arrival to Cusco in the late afternoon.

Reception at Cusco terminal bus and transfer to the hotel.
A guide will escort you from the airport to your hotel.

Day 9: Cusco - Sacsayhuaman - Q'enqo - Cusco

Departure for a half-day dedicated to the discovery of the ruins around Cusco (Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo) and of the historical center: Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral where several paintings of the Cusco School and many gold and silversmithery pieces and precious stone objects are displayed.
Return to the hotel in Cusco.

Day 10: Cusco - Huayopata

Departure for a two-day trip to discover the secrets of coffee and cocoa farming in communities of organic farmers in the Quillabamba Valley.

Arrival to Julia’s house in the village of Huayopata in late morning where we will meet the family and then have lunch.

Early in the afternoon we walk through the plantations to discover all the local fruits, harvest the coffee and observe the beginnings of coffee production. We return to Julia’s house where she will teach us about the different stages of coffee manufacture: pulping, roasting, grinding - the beans will divulge all their secrets to you! And then you can taste and enjoy your coffee....

Free time and dinner with the family.

Day 11: Huayopata - Aguas Calientes

We eat breakfast with the family before walking to the cocoa plantations. You will discover the different steps in the manufacture of chocolate: just like with the coffee, you will pulp, roast and grind the beans before tasting your own cocoa paste and fruit from the plantation and hot chocolate.

In late morning we drive to the village of Santa Teresa. Small bath and lunch before going away again up to the hydroelectric where you will to walk (2H30) in destination the village of Aguas Calientes.

Day 12: Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo

In the early morning, direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Arrival to Machu Picchu, wonder of the world.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city of the fifteenth century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu sacred city, forgotten for centuries, is considered as a masterpiece of Inca architecture. It was unveiled in 1911 by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham.

Train back to Ollantaytambo.

Day 13: Sacred Valley - Moray - Maras - Chinchero - Cusco

In the morning, departure in a private vehicle for a day dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley. First stop at the cultural site of Moray, a former Incan agricultural ‘laboratory’.
Then, continuation of the excursion to Maras: salt mines in the middle of the Cordillera! Visit of the village of Chinchero and its colonial church.
Drive back to Cuzco and transfer to the hotel.
Lunch with Irene and her family in their home.

Day 14: Cusco - Lima

Time-off in the morning to relax.
