Mysterious Lake Titicaca and its legends…
Much could be said of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on the world (3,810 m.a.s.l.) with a surface area of 8,372 km2, half the surface area of Lake Ontario!

The legend has it that Manco Cápac, the first Inca and Mama Ocllo, his wife and sister, emerged from the waters of the lake to found the Inca empire. The Uros Indians, who inhabited the floating islands on the lake, are said to be the descendants of the royal couple…

We recommend a crossing of the lake by boat for a visit to the floating islands of the Uros after passing Amantani and Taquile to reach the tiny paradise of Suasi.
