Day 1: Lima

At your arrival at the airport Jorge Chávez of Lima, you will be taken to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima

Full day dedicated to the visit of the Peruvian capital city. Explore the colonial quarters of the city center including the Plaza San Martin and the Plaza de Armas.

In the morning, explore the colonial quarters of the city center including the Plaza San Martin and the Plaza de Armas.
Visit to the Larco Herrera Museum, one of the largest private collections of pre-Columbian art in Peru. The exhibition rooms showcase the splendid and well preserved artifacts: pottery, textiles, gold pieces and even mummies all of which will teach you more about Peruvian history.

A private vehicle will bring you to the restaurant and wait during the meal.
Dinner in the restaurant AmaZ. You will discover the Amazonian gastronomy and enjoy a unique tasting experience with menus designed to be shared just like home.

Day 3: Lima - Arequipa

You will be transferred to the Lima airport to take your flight.



Flight to Arequipa.

Reception at Arequipa airport and transfer to the hotel.

Half day dedicated to the discovery of Arequipa, the "white city". Enjoy a guided tour of the colonial downtown including the main square, the cathedral, the Jesuit church and convent as well as the Santa Catalina monastery. This small city hidden within the city is full of beautiful lanes lined with ochre, blue and white colored houses, small squares and fountains that are reminiscent of Andalucia.

Day 4: Arequipa - Colca Valley - Yanque

In the morning, departure in a private vehicle for Colca by the Colca Canyon route. On the way we will pass through the Pampa Cañahua nature reserve area where we can possibly observe vicunas and other camelids. We will stop at the Patapampa pass at an altitude of 4,900 m to view the surrounding volcanoes of Ampato, Sacanbaya and Hualca-Hualca. Transfer to the hotel.

Night at the hotel Las Casitas del Colca.

In the end of the afternoon, you will learn how to prepare the typical Peruvian cocktail, done with Pisco, the national alcohol from the southern Peru.
After the intense lesson, you will enjoy your cocktail in peace and quiet.

Day 5: Colca Valley - Cruz del Condor - Puno - Titilaka

After breakfast we will start our day with a stop at Cruz del Condor, at the heart of Colca, to observe Andean condors in flight and appreciate the depth of the canyon (1200m). We will then travel toward Chivay visiting the lookout points at Antahuilque and Choquetico, the pre-Inca cemetery and the traditional picturesque villages of Maca (3262m) and Yanque (3417m) along the way. After lunch the journey continues on toward Puno.

Note: around 5 hours of travel.
Reception in Puno and transfer to Hotel Titilaka *****, a beautiful Relais & Chàteaux hotel situated on the west shores of lake Titicaca close to the Chucuito Peninsula.

Day 6: Titilaka

This day is devoted to the discovery of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, among a wide selection of excursions and walks on demand.

You could choose your activity between:
- Explore the Uros islands and Taquile
- Visit the local neighboring communities of Socca or Perka
- Visit the archaeological sites of Sillustani, Inka Anatawi, Juli and Pomata
- Visit to the colonial village of Lampa
Etc.

Selection of the activities upon your arrival at the hotel. Tours are grouped with the hotel guests and leaded bu an English-speaking guide.

Overnight at Hotel Titilaka.

NB : Note: In Titilaka, all meals are prepared with fresh local ingredients. The evening cocktails are served from 18:30, and followed by a dinner. Taste the house speciality: the "Chilcano of Muña," a combination of Peruvian Pisco and mint.

Day 7: Titilaka - Puno - Cusco




In the morning, transfer to the Puno train station. Departure for the long journey to Cuzco, aboard the Orient Express train. We admire wonderful landscapes along the road. Lunch included (on board).
Note 1: the train operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from November to March. From April to October, it also operates on Fridays. It makes no stops. As for the tourist bus, it does operate every day and stops on several occasions to allow visits.
Note 2: visitors are not accompanied by a guide on this train journey.
Note 3: journey in first class, around 6-hour travel time.

Day 8: Cusco - Sacsayhuaman - Q'enqo - Cusco

Departure for a half-day dedicated to the discovery of the ruins around Cusco (Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo) and of the historical center: Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral where several paintings of the Cusco School and many gold and silversmithery pieces and precious stone objects are displayed.
Return to the hotel in Cusco.


You will enjoy an open air lunch at the Cerro san Cristobal to make the most of the panoramic view of Cuzco.
Our chef will cook you a local menu with Andean fresh products in which you will find avocado salad, quinoa soup, "lomo saltado" and "aji de gallina". A bottle of wine will be served to accompany the meal.

Day 9: Cusco - Chinchero - Moray - Maras - Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

Departure at 7.30am in a private vehicle on an all-day excursion to explore the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be a visit to the colonial village of Chinchero to visit the colonial church and the Inca ruins. Then we will continue our excursion visiting the village of Maras and the salt flats perched in the cordillera there! We then set off to visit to the cultural site of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory before continuing on toward Ollantaytambo.

Lunch at the Hacienda Huayoccari and visit of the private art collection owned by the family Lambarri.

Departure for a 2 hours ride by train to Aguas Calientes. The Vistadome's wagons are completely covered with glass for a panoramic view throughout the journey.

Night at the hotel Machu Picchu Pueblo.

BIRDS

  • Walk early in the morning to take advantage of the optimum time for cloud-forest bird watching. Begin at a river observatory, with the possibility of sighting the sought-after torrent duck and the white-capped dipper.
  • Then proceed to a productive tanager feeding area, where silver-beaked, blue-necked, fawn-breasted and saffron-crowned tanagers can be found. Along the hotel’s pathways, be on the lookout for the cock-of-the rock, the golden-headed quetzal and many of the 18 different hummingbirds identified on the grounds, including the booted racket-tail and the green-and white hummingbirds, which are native to the area.

NATURE WALK

  • Walk along the hotel’s trails, and discover the fascinating yet fragile ecosystem of the Machu Picchu cloud forest, and learn about its many indigenous plants and animals. The Nature Walk offers travelers a glimpse of cloud forest flora: ferns, bromeliads and orchids and fauna -an interesting variety of birds; as well as an introduction to the Vilcanota river system, the Observatory, the tea garden and house.

ORCHID TRAIL

  • Walk through the orchid garden to observe some of the hotel’s 372 different native orchid species in their natural habitat, the world record according to the American Orchid Society. Discover this extraordinary plant family, which has captured the human imagination for centuries.
  • From the largest orchid flower in the world – the Phragmipedium caudatum, to tiny flowering specimens properly appreciated only through a magnifying glass, there are orchids to amaze both the newly inquisitive and the expert, including species new to science which have been discovered on the hotel grounds.

TEA HOUSE

Day 10: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley

In the early morning, direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Arrival to Machu Picchu, wonder of the world.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city of the fifteenth century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu sacred city, forgotten for centuries, is considered as a masterpiece of Inca architecture. It was unveiled in 1911 by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham.

Together with your english speaking guide, you will start to discover the archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices. A stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun! After the guided tour (around 3 hours for the visit), you have the opportunity to discover on your own.

Train back to Ollantaytambo.
Reception at the train staion and transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 11: Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo - Pisac - Cusco

Departure at 9am by private vehicle for a day dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be the Inca village of Ollantaytambo where we will visit the fortress. Then, we will go to the ruins of Pisac where we will visit the site and walk around the handicraft market. Transfer to the hotel in Cusco. At Pisac, you'll make a break-tasting at the "Horno Colonial San Francisco," a establishment with a colonial oven from 1830, which prepares great empanadas brioche.
Way back to Cusco.

Day 12: Cusco - Lima

At 10 am In the morning, you will visit the San Pedro's market, with a professional cook, who will help you choosing the best products in order to prepare your lunch together.

Transfer to Cusco's airport.
