Day by day…
The Amazon jungle is the purest region of the world, where jaguars, eagles, caimans, and anacondas share the forest. The flora of this region includes more than 20,000 species of plants. You are invited to discover the jungle, home of the greatest biodiversity anywhere in the world.
Day 1: PUERTO MALDONADO RECEPTION
You will be met at the airport and transferred to the port of Puerto Maldonado. From there, we will take a 40-minute boat ride down the beautiful Madre de Dios River to our lodge. There will be welcome drinks at Corto Mattes***, our lodge, and then time to settle into our bungalows. Then, we will have lunch and time for a short rest.
At 15:30, we offer the first departure for a 2-4 hour jungle trip, where we will discover a variety of medicinal plants, tropical insects, and beautiful butterflies. We will stop at a lookout spot to take in the amazing spectacle of birds, including toucans, macaws, and many more. We will return to the lodge, and at night there is a special canoe trip for caiman-spotting.
