Day 1: Lima

Upon your arrival at the airport Jorge Chávez of Lima, you will be taken to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima - Ica - Oasis of Huacachina

Transfer to Lima bus terminal.
Departure by bus to Ica.
We leave for a half day and night of fun in the Ica sand dunes. Enjoy a 1 hour adrenaline rush being driven through the Huacachina dunes in a buggy car and then you have the option to try out sand-boarding on the high dunes. In the evening, after watching the sun set over the desert, we will go and set up our camp among the sand dunes. Tonight, music and barbecue around the campfire! We leave the next morning after breakfast to go back to Huacachina.

Day 3: Ica - Lima

Departure by bus to Lima.
Reception at the bus station and transfer to your hotel in Lima.

Day 4: Lima - Cusco

You will be transferred to the Lima airport to take your flight.

Domestic flight from Lima to Cusco.

Departure for an half-day dedicated to the discovery of Cuzco's historical downtown. In the morning, visits of the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), and of the Cathedral, exhibiting some paintings from the School of Cuzco and many goldsmith’s art, silver and precious stones treasures. Then we walk down to the San Blas quarter (the artists’ place).

Day 5: Cusco - Q'enqo - Sacsayhuaman - Cusco

Departure at 8 am from your hotel to reach the ruins of Qenko and visit the archaeological site. Then you will go to the place of departure of horse riding excursions. You will have the opportunity to visit the "Temple of the Moon," the "balcón del diablo" and you will end your walk with a visit to the ruins of Sacsayhuaman.

Return by private vehicle to Cusco.

Day 6: Cusco - Patabamba - Huchuy Qosqo - Lamay - Pisac

Early in the morning, departure in a private vehicle to the village of Patabamba (3780 m), starting point of the day walking in the direction of Inca archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo (3550 m), the "small Cusco" in Quechua. We cross the community of Sihuar where shepherds watching over their cattle before the Pukamarka pass at 4200m. Then we go down to the site of Pukamarka for lunch. After lunch, we continue to the beautiful canyon of Leonpunku (the door of the lion in Quechua) before reaching the ruins of Uchuyqosqo. Visit of the site and then down into the valley to the Rio Urubamba (approx. 45 minutes) to reach the vehicle. Transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley.
Note: 6 hours of walking.

Day 7: Sacred Valley - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Departure at 9am by private vehicle for a day dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be the ruins of Pisac where we will visit the site and walk around the handicraft market. We will then continue on to the Inca village of Ollantaytambo where we will visit the fortress. We make a further stop at a ceramics workshop in Urumbamba along the way.

Departure for a 2 hours ride by train to Aguas Calientes. The Vistadome's wagons are completely covered with glass for a panoramic view throughout the journey.

Day 8: Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley

In the early morning, direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Arrival to Machu Picchu, wonder of the world.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city of the fifteenth century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu sacred city, forgotten for centuries, is considered as a masterpiece of Inca architecture. It was unveiled in 1911 by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham.

Together with your english speaking guide, you will start to discover the archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices. A stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun! After the guided tour (around 3 hours for the visit), you have the opportunity to discover on your own.

Train back to Ollantaytambo.

Day 9: Sacred Valley - Cusco

In the morning we set out on the 30-minute trip to Pachar, located between Ollantaytambo and Urubamba. After receiving all the necessary safety equipment and briefings you will be off on a 3 hour adventure! Firstly you must scale a rock face with the help of the steel cable and ladder safety system that has been installed along it. This hour and a half ascent allows you to take in the magnificent views of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Then, after a half hour walk along a safe mountainside path, you reach the first zip line. Once you are harnessed and ready, you will launch yourself off into the air and experience the zip line rush. There are five lines in total, from 150 to 500 meters long, that take you back down to the heart of the valley.

Day 10: Cusco

You set off for a day of rafting in the sacred valley to the south of Cusco. After a two-hour journey you will navigate the rapids of Vilcanota River between Cusipata and Chuquicahuana for a distance of around 12 km (duration: around 2.5 hours).
Return to your hotel in late afternoon.

Day 11: Cusco - Puno - Llachon

Transfer to Cusco's bus terminal.

English speaking assistance from hotel to bus terminal station.
Departure by tourist bus to Puno, town located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We enjoy wonderful landscapes along the road. We go over the Raya Pass, at an altitude of 4320 meters. Visits of the Pukara Museum, of the archaeological site of Raqchi and of the “Sistine Chapel” of the Andes in Andahuaylillas. Lunch included (buffet restaurant at Sicuani). An English-speaking guide, exclusive to the bus company, participates to the journey and gives information along the way.

Option: you the also have the option to take the train. The Andean Explorer operates from November to March on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays (and also on Fridays from April to October).
Recpetion in Puno and transfer to Llachon.
We will first meet our hosts then dinner and overnight with a local inhabitant.

Day 12: Llachon - Ccotos Peninsula - Puno

Early in the morning, departure for an easy walk to Ccotos in order to discover severals small villages. Visit of a traditional embroidery factory. Lunch in a local restaurant in Ccotos. In the afternoon, sailing boat to discover the traditional way to go fishing. Back to Puno at the end of the day.

Day 13: Puno - Sillustani - Juliaca - Lima

Transfer to Juliaca's airport. On the way, visit to the Chullpas de Sillustani, burial towers built in stone, some of then high of twelve meters.
Domestic flight from Juliaca to Lima.

Day 14: Lima

Free day.
Three hours before take-off, transfer to Jorge Chavez airport in Lima. Connection with the international return flight.
